This weekend I am going to the Celina balloom festival.
“THIS WEEKEND” We are planning on going to Flower Mount pumpkin patch. And letting our kids choose pumpkins that we can make into jack-o-lanters. And on Sunday hopefully we can go fishing depending on the weather.
THIS WEEKEND I have an exam, we are participating in the neighborhood yard sale, picking up our tree from keep Denton beautiful ad relaxing! Happy Birthday!
This weekend my daughter is having her 11th birthday slumber party. We plan to take the girls to Railroad Park to enjoy the Halloween festivities. She has great friends so it should be a lot of fun.
THIS WEEKEND we are taking our girls to Bass Pro to do their Halloween activities.
THIS WEEKEND I plan on taking my kiddos to Lowes Build and Grow and then possibly the pumpkin patch and Halloweens stores.

“THIS WEEKEND……………We are going to the Spooktacular Trails Extravaganza Toyota of Lewisville’s Railroad Park. We had a blast last year!
On Halloween we will be handing out candy! My little one is too small to go trick or treating.
“ON HALLOWEEN……My little one and I are going to dress as Jack Skellington and Sally (from the Nightmare Before Christmas). We’ll are heading to the Carrollton Library’s Books For Treats event. After we pick our free book, we are heading out with our dog dressed a Zero for trick or treating.

Our FAVORITE recipe is ……….Tomato Basil Soup
Ingredients:
2 Big Cans of Crushed Tomatoes
1 Can of Low Sodium Chicken Broth
16 Basil Leaves (I use the tube found in produce section at Kroger, it freezes)
1 T Sugar
1 Cup Whipping Cream
½ Cup Butter or Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions:
Dump everything into a pan and place it on medium fire.
Stir till the butter melts, then simmer until you are ready to serve it.
Serve it with a grill cheese sandwhich.
I’ve also made this in a crock pot.

A FAVORITE RECIPE IS..
Rice Pudding
3/4 c uncooked long grain rice
4 c milk
1 tsp grated lemon zest
3/4 c sugar
4 egg yolks
In sauce pan, boil rice in 3/4 c water for 4 mins. Add milk, zest, 1/4 tsp salt, cover and simmer 23 mintues, stirring until rice is done.
Stir in sugar, yolks, cook stirring over meadium heat for 4 minutes until bubbles bubbles from around the edges.
Let cool.

A Favorite Recipe.. (#2)
Berry Shortcake
2 c all purpose flour
1/4 c + 1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
2 1/2 c heavy cream
3 cups sliced berries mixed w/ 2Tbsp sugar
preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix flour, 1/4 c sugar, baking powder, and 1/2 tsp salt. Add 1 c cream toss together. Shape into 6in log, cut into 6 slices. Place on greased baking sheet, Bake for 15 mins, let cool. Beat remaining cream,1 Tbsp sugar. Split cakes, serve with cream and berries on top.
Our favorite”Free” family activity is going to the library and enjoying all of the family events and activities! We also like finding out about events where children and families can help in our community.

A FAVORITE RECIPE (#3)
FUDGY BROWNIES
1/2 c butter or 1 stick
4 oz unsweetened chocolate chopped
1 1/4 c sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c all purpose flour
Preheat over to 350. Line 8 in square baking pan with foil, grease foil. In saucepan over low heat, melt butter and chocolate. Remove from heat, wisk in sugar and eggs. Stir in flour and a pinch of salt. Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake 24 minutes until tests moist and let cool.

THIS WEEKEND, we are attending the Fiesta Flower Mound fundraiser event! It’s going to be fun!
My daughter is 14 and loves music she plays the electric guitar and wants to be a marine biologist . My boys that are ages 13 and 7 like playing games on the computer and video games. My youngest boy who is 3 loves the alphabet, colors and puzzles.
Googy Rolls
Roll Ingredients:
8 Large Marshmallows
1 Stick of Butter
1 Can of Crescent Rolls
8 Cup Cake Liners
Sugar
Cinnamon
Instructions:
Mix cinnamon and sugar together (more sugar than cinnamon, its doesn’t take a lot of cinnamon) in a bowl
Separate crescent triangles
Melt two sticks of butter in a saucepan
Reduce heat (to keep warm/melted but not boiling)
Dip large marshmallow in butter and cover completely
Put marshmallow on the crescent triangle and cover with crescent flaps.
Close all sides by pinching
Place in muffin pan inside the cup liner
Follow baking directions on the crescent rolls container. Usually 375 for about 10 minutes. The marshmallow will ooze out while baking so you might want to line bottom of oven for easy clean up.
You can drizzle with icing (which is just powered sugar and milk mixed well), once done.

Spicy Crispy Beef
Ingredient:
1 lean steak, 5-8 oz. per person
1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
1 cup of chopped green onion
1-2 tsp chili garlic sauce
brown rice to serve
chopped cilantro or green onion for garnish
canola oil
Instructions:
Combine the soy sauce, honey, chili garlic sauce and 2 tsp canola oil in a bowl. Set aside.
Cut steak into thin slices, like strips. (Place it in the freezer for 5-10 minutes before slicing.)
Heat 1/2 tbsp canola oil in a large pan.
Add the beef, green onion and cook for 30 seconds per side.
Add the soy sauce mixture to the pan, stir,
Serve over the rice. Garnish with chopped cilantro.

Barley and Vegetable Soup
Makes: Serves 6 Nutrients Per Serving Calories: 202.6 Protein: 6.6 grams Fat: 5.1 grams Saturated Fat: 0.5 grams Monounsat Fat: 2.6 grams Polyunsat Fat: 1.7 grams Carbohydrate: 33.7 grams Fiber: 4.6 grams Cholesterol: 0.0 mg Vitamin A: 3,465.2 IU Vitamin E: 0.9 mg/IU Vitamin C: 4.5 mg Calcium: 36.7 mg Magnesium: 40.1 mg
Ingredients:
3/4 cup pearl barley
11 cups vegetable stock (see recipe for Roasted Vegetable Soup)
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
1 cup chopped carrots
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 cup thinly sliced mushrooms
Salt to taste
1/2 bunch parsley
Directions:
1. In a saucepan, combine the barley and 3 cups of vegetable stock. Bring to a boil over medium heat, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, or until the liquid is absorbed.
2. Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a large pot and add the onion, carrots, celery, and mushrooms. Cover and cook the vegetables for about 5 minutes, until they begin to soften.
3. Add the remaining vegetable stock and simmer 30 minutes, covered.
4. Add the barley and simmer 5 minutes more. Add salt to taste and ladle into bowls. Serve garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
Our favorite Free activity is the open house at the FM fire station. We go every year and always learn something. Parks are great too’
