This year we honor all veterans with special recognition for the contributions of American Indian soldiers since before 1776. Featured Vietnam veteran artist, Arnulfo Peña brings to life the American Indian warriors in his painting, “We Were Always There.” Special Guest, Chester Nez, the last of the original 29 Navajo WWII Code Talkers will be present to sign his book Code Talker.
Children and families will delight in our interactive cultural path on Elm Street featuring games, an Indigenous grocery store, beading demonstrations, Cherokee basketry, seed education, traditional dancing, storytelling and more.
This unique event cannot be found anywhere else in Texas, so mark your calendars for a delight in sight, sounds and new friendships. Sponsored by the Old Downtown Carrollton Association.
