Reading Log
  • Kids read any eight (8) books of their choosing.
  • Kids use the Passport to Summer Reading to document the places visited in each book. A parent/guardian signs the Passport when it's complete.
  • Kids bring their completed Passport to any B&N store between May 25 and September 7, 2010.
  • They'll get a coupon for a FREE BOOK, to be chosen from a list of exceptional paperback titles.*
*Eligible books will be listed on the coupon. Choices must be made from available stock. No special orders. Limit of one form per school-age child (grades 1-6).

Turn in your completed log between June 18 - August 16 and receive:

  • a Summer Reading Program certificate
  • a free book
  • a free ticket to the Ringling Brothers circus, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST (Children under two do not need a ticket to the circus)

Every week there will be a prize drawing from the previous week's entries. The more book reviews you turn in that week, the more chances you'll have to win!

Catch the Reading Express!  This year's program will kick off on Saturday, June 5th with mini train rides in the library parking lot from 2-5 pm!

We have a great series of programs lined up.  Please remember that to attend children must be ages 5 and up, show a current Grapevine Public Library card, and be able to attend without an adult.  Library staff will scan cards and supervise the group during the program.  SRC programs are on Wednesdays at 2 pm; other programs without card and age restrictions will be listed on the children's storytime and event page.

Due to overwhelming attendance in the past, all Summer Reading Club events will be held at Lake Dallas City Hall, 212 Main Street, Lake Dallas.  You will still need to check your books in or out at the library before or after each performance as well as pick up your child’s prize bags for reading

This program is free for children entering the first through fifth grade. Summer reading is for fun and to keep skills sharp. Weekly programs are for Summer Reading Club Members only. We encourage parents and younger siblings to explore the Library during program times.
Registration Begins June 9, 2010.

All programs begin at 2:00 on Wednesdays; June 16 - August 11.

All logs must be turned in by August 4 to receive a certificate at the final program (August 11)! Anyone turning in a log after this date can pick up a certificate throughout August.

If you have read at least 10 books and turned in your log, you will receive a certificate today. Congratulations!
