The Coppell ISD, Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD and the William T. Cozby  Public Library are hosting the annual Bluebonnet Night at 6:30 pm on Thursday, April 26.  It is outside at the Town Center Plaza behind City Hall.  The mission of the Texas Bluebonnet Award Program is to promote reading by children in grades 3-6.  Every year the Texas Library Association selects twenty quality children’s books to introduce students to a variety of genres and authors.  This year’s selection includes nonfiction, fiction, fantasy and biographies.

At Bluebonnet Night, students will give a “book talk” on each title, to introduce the audience to the books.  The children are encouraged at school to read the books, and vote on their favorites.  The award winning book title will be announced in 2013.

There will be a limited number of chairs in the plaza.  Guests are encouraged to bring blankets for lawn seating.
