It’s easy to participate in the Summer Reading Program!
For kids newborn to 5th grade:
• Visit the Library catalog to sign up.
• Log each day that you read. When you reach 15 days, you’ll get a free book (while supplies last)!
• When you read 20 days, you’ll get an entry into our Grand Prize Gift Drawing!
• At 25 days, you’ll get an invitation to our special Gold Medal Pool Party*!
• When you read for 30 days, you’ll get a second entry into our Grand Prize Gift Drawing!
• The last day to log your reading and collect prizes is Saturday, July 31.
*Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

SPLISH SPLASH STORYTIME

A special storytime at the pool! The CORE and the Cozby Library are partnering again this summer to offer Splish Splash Storytime, in conjunction with Tot Swim. Meet at the pool for stories, songs, splashing, and fun! Storytime is free and will take place in the outdoor pool. Those who wish to stay and swim can do so until 12:45 pm, you will need to have a CORE membership, punch pass, or pay the regular day pass rate. For parents and children up to age 8. The CORE is located at 234 E Parkway Blvd.
SECOND SATURDAY STORYTIME
Second Saturday of every month at 11 am
A special storytime presented to children of working parents and everyone who cannot attend regular weekday storytimes.

KidsNotes is an interactive, educational program for young children led by a symphony staff member and a musician from the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra. There will be professional musicians performing, and the children will have the opportunity to try the instruments. Intended for children preschool to 1st grade.

Saturday, August 12 at 2 pm
Create a Solar Eclipse viewer to safely view the partial eclipse! We will make a pin-hole viewer that you can take home to view the solar eclipse. Remember, looking directly at the sun, even during a partial eclipse, can cause serious eye damage. The solar eclipse is Monday, August 21. The total phase of this solar eclipse is not visible in Coppell, but a partial solar eclipse will be visible starting at 11:40 am with the maximum coverage visible at 1:09 pm. The eclipse will end at 2:39 pm.

Build a Bird Feeder
Friday, June 9
Build a bird feeder using upcycled milk jugs and plastic bottles. Learn how different types of foods attract different birds, as well as the importance of water and cover habitats. Take your bird feeder home or donate it to be placed behind the Coppell Nature Park Bird Watching Wall. This workshop is brought to you by the Biodiversity Education Center.
Build Healthy Snacks

Learn how to make some healthy snacks this summer. We’ll create and eat snacks that are easy and delicious. This workshop is brought to you by Natural Grocers and Living Well in Coppell.
Build a Better You with Yoga
Friday, June 23
Find your Zen with this guided yoga workshop. Our instructor will talk a little about Yoga and then lead a class that will benefit beginners as well as more experienced yogis. Bring your own yoga mat or beach towel. This workshop is in partnership with The CORE.
Build a Sketch
Friday, June 30
Learn sketching techniques and tips from Shonuff Studios. They’ll answer any questions about the comics industry as well. All supplies will be provided by the library. This workshop is brought to you by Shonuff Studios.
Build a Hero

Have you ever wanted to learn CPR? We’ll have a certified professional teach this life-saving workshop brought to you by the Coppell Fire Department.

Build and create with the library’s maker supplies. Play and experiment with Makey Makey, Little Bits, mini Solar Cars, and other awesome technology!
