Pirate Beach at Legoland Grapevine
LEGO® Pirate-Themed Splash Pad Open For The Season
As the temperatures begin to rise, what better way to cool off than to splash around Pirate Beach at LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Dallas/Fort Worth? The popular outdoor pirate-themed splash pad is now open for the season.
Go on a swashbuckling adventure with more than 30 interactive gadgets pumping and spraying thousands of gallons of water. Climb aboard a LEGO® shipwrecked pirate vessel, while you navigate through water jets, shoot water cannons and splash down slides. But stay alert, looming at the top of the 20-foot-tall mast is a 50-gallon bucket of water that’s ready to come pouring down at any moment. Test your building skills with soft LEGO® bricks while playing amongst LEGO® models of pirates, treasures chests and palm trees.
Pirate Beach is included in the price of admission. Bring your buccaneers, bathing suits, towels, change of clothes and prepare for fun…if ye dare!
Outdoor play area includes changing rooms and restrooms. Dry clothes are required to re-enter attraction and play indoors. Enjoy the fun and excitement all summer long before the water playground closes for the fall season.
Last year, one of our readers stopped by Pirate Beach with her children and gave us an inside look:
It’s always fun to visit Legoland Discovery Center, but this time was extra special because we were experiencing Legoland’s newest attraction – Pirate Beach! After riding rides, building a lego car and checking out the indoor exhibits, the kids changed into their swimsuits (which I had thrown into my backpack) and headed outside to enjoy Legoland’s newest addition. The kids delighted in building lego towers with large kid-friendly lego blocks scattered all around, and splashed in the fountains located between pirate-themed lego men. It didn’t take long for them to notice the big dump bucket perched on top of the playscape, and they waited patiently until it drenched them…over and over again. Since most community pools and splash pads are closed for the season, it was nice to be able to cool off and stretch the summer a little longer. Pirate Beach is parent-friendly too! There are many picnic tables with umbrellas, a supervisor consistently walking the area, and a snack bar that also sells reasonably-priced swimsuits and sunscreen for anyone that made it to Legoland and didn’t have splash-friendly attire. Pirate Beach is definitely an awesome addition to an already family-favorite attraction! ~Amy Weidner
