Liberty Run, Parade, Jubilee, and More!

Denton is a great place to spend the 4th! Start off your day with the Liberty 5K run or 1-mile walk and head down to the streets of the Downtown Square for the 4th of July Yankee Doodle Parade! Spend some time in Quakertown Park for family fun and make sure to end your day at the UNT Apogee Stadium for live music followed by a spectacular fireworks show! With so many events going on, there is something for the whole family!
Liberty 5K or 1-mile walk
- Head to downtown Denton for the annual 5K Liberty Run and 1-Mile Walk.
- Registration ends July 1 at midnight.
- $25 per person; register online. Race day registration is 6 to 7 a.m.; $30 per person.
4th of July Yankee Doodle Parade
The 4th of July Yankee Doodle Parade will start its route beginning at the Hickory-Locust corner of the Square and going around all the way to the Civic Center.
Parade will begin at 9 a.m. Staging begins at 8 a.m. and judging begins at 8:30 a.m. on South Locust Street, between Walnut Street and Sycamore Street. Call (940) 349-8575 or register online. Watch from your lawn chair, decked out in red, white and blue, for this patriotic parade!
Fourth of July Jubilee
9-11 a.m. at the Denton Civic Center and Quakertown Park.
Families are invited for free family fun! Enjoy an adult horseshoe tournament, free kid’s carnival games, hot dog eating contest, and much more. Register online for the Hot Dog Eating Contest.
Kiwanis Fireworks Show
Apogee Stadium, 1251 S. Bonnie Brae St., Denton, TX 76207
Since 1972 the Denton Noon Kiwanis Club has presented the 4th of July Fireworks Show. Parking is $10 per carload and entry into Apogee Stadium is FREE. No outside drinks are allowed inside the stadium, however a variety of concessions will be available for purchase. There will be a children’s activity area as well as live bands performing before the fireworks begin.
All proceeds from the event are used to fund the many youth services that the Denton Noon Kiwanis Club supports, including the Denton Kiwanis Club Children’s Clinic, which has been providing free medical, dental and prescription services to children in Denton County since 1923.
