Join us for the 25th anniversary Freedom Festival! This year we’ve got a fantastic lineup of entertainment for all ages and a spectacular fireworks display at dusk. Festivalgoers will be able to enjoy live performances from three different bands (Burning Sky Band, The Bandulus, and Gratzi) starting at 6pm and wrapping just in time for fireworks. We’ve got plenty of activities for the kids including a bungee ride, water slides, face painting, obstacle courses and games.

Band Lineup
- 6:00 p.m.: Gratzi (Denton-based power pop band, which was formed by four music teachers at the height of the pandemic.)
- 7:15 p.m.: The Bandulus (An Austin-born ska, reggae, soul group that brings high energy to the stage.)
- 8:30 p.m.: Burning Sky Band (Rock cover band plays classic to current hits to keep the party going – from The Rolling Stones to Miranda Lambert.)

The popular low-level fireworks show held the past several years in Old Town Lewisville on the Tuesday nearest July 4 will take a break in 2023. Public safety personnel are not able to support two fireworks shows on the same night, so City personnel will focus on the event that can accommodate a larger audience. Budgeted funding for the downtown event will be used to enhance access and visitor experience at Freedom Fest, including free parking shuttles into Lake Avalon Park.
