There have been questions on whether this event would take place. As of the afternoon of Thursday, June 15th, the city has confirmed that the splash park will be ready and the event will take place.
Lewisville Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) is inviting residents to the grand opening of the newly renovated Old Town Splash Park at Wayne Frady Park, 535 W. College Street, 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, June 17.
PARD will have its Play Lewisville On Wheels team at this event, providing kids and kids at heart some life-sized games and entertainment.

Old Town Splash Park will operate seasonally, May-September, depending on the weather.
During the open season, the splash park will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and admission will be free.
The new design includes five above-ground, nature-based features, four splash zones, and multiple shade structures. It operates on recirculated water, so the City is not wasting a ton of water or losing it through evaporation.
