Special Summer Programs

6/01 2:00 PM  Dallas Zoo: Kids will enjoy this 45-minute interactive program features animals from around the world. All ages.

6/03 11:00 AM Magic Show with Marty Westerman: A thrilling and entertaining show, by a sleight-of-hand master! All ages.

6/08 2:00 PM  Circus Smirkus: Children of all ages will enjoy this fun circus magic, with hand and Marionette puppets! There is a unicycle-riding monkey, a juggling clown, and an elephant splashing with joy.

6/10 11:00 AM  Snow White, a Live Performance: This is not your usual “Once Upon a Time” Classic. Expect the unexpected in this fabulous fairy tale full of hilarious hijinks and meaningful lessons. All ages.

6/14 10:00 AM AND 11:30 AM Animals from Around the World Workshop: Where an animal lives decides how they are specifically adapted to their habitat or environment. Participants will learn how their adaptations help them to survive in the places they live. Hands-on activities included. Best for ages 6 and up.

6/15 2:00 PM The Unhuggables: All the critters you thought you hated! This program generally includes large hissing cockroaches, creepy tarantulas, slithery snakes, and other various reptiles and invertebrates that might be on hand. All ages.

6/16 10:00 AM AND 11:30 AM Zookeeper Workshop: Ever wonder what it takes to become a zookeeper? If so, check out this hands-on workshop to learn more. Best for ages 6 and up.

6/17 11:00 AM  Reading and Rhyming with Mother Goose: This popular childhood character has a hilarious show with lots of puppets and ventriloquism. Kids will love Lamby, Mary, Goosey, and Itsy Bitsy. All ages.

6/21 10:00 AM Yo-Yo Workshop: Every wanted to learn how to do yo-yo tricks? Now is your chance! Sign up for this hands-on workshop led by a yo-yo international champion. Yo-yos will be provided. Best for ages 8 and up.

6/22 2:00 PM John O’Bryant Magic Show: This show will feature amazing magic! All ages.

6/23 10:00 AM Magic Workshop with Marty Westerman: Learn the art of magic from a master of sleight-of-hand. Ages 11 and up only. Registration required.

6/24 11:00 AM  Blow a Bigger Bubble: Children will be WOWED by bubbles that begin tiny and progressively get bigger and bigger. Highlights of the show are when an audience volunteer is brought up for a “bubble hairdo”. An adult – and even a child – will be put inside a GIANT bubble at the end of the show! All ages.

6/28 10:00 AM AND 11:30 AM Space Phenomena Workshop: In Space Phenomena, children explore the phenomenal events that take place in the night sky. Children create impact craters and observe model meteors fall through a model atmosphere. Children watch a model comet form out of household materials right before their eyes and play a friendly game of satellite tag to learn about reflected light. Best for ages 6 and up.

6/29 2:00 PM Dino Bob: Ever wonder what life was like in Texas during the time of the dinosaurs? In this highly educational program, Dino Bob will teach students about what kinds of dinosaurs walked (and swam) right here in Texas! Dino Bob also encourages and offers tips for kids to go out and fossil hunt for themselves! After the presentation, Dino Bob lets kids examine real fossils from Texas dinosaurs. Best for ages 6 and up.

6/30 10:00 AM AND 11:30 AM Under Pressure Workshop: Under Pressure is an exciting immersion in the science of air pressure and Bernoulli’s principle. Children enjoy the exciting tale of the Viking ship while learning about thermodynamics and weather systems. A hopping, hovering table tennis ball lets children experiment with unbalanced air pressure. Air-blasting Airzookas are a fun way to understand the physics of breathing. Children apply their knowledge to overcome gravity using compressed air. Best for ages 6 and up.

7/01 11:00 AM Boas vs. Pythons: There is much more to this fascinating group of snakes than what we get from many mythical tales. Now you can learn the rest of the story. Meet some of the smaller and gentler members of this family – from Africa, Australia, North America, South America, and southeast Asia. You may never think of them as man-eaters again! All ages.

7/06 2:00 PM Snake Encounters: This highly entertaining snake show is funny and educational. Parent favorite! All ages.

7/07 10:00 AM Balloon Workshop: Do you love balloons? Want to impress your friends? Learn to make balloon animals, it’s fun for everyone and is a skill that keeps on giving! Best for ages 8 and up.

7/08 11:00 AM Magic Balloon Show: Kids will be amazed, inspired, and entertained. Robb has a unique way of entertaining and educating your children at the same time – through magic, storytelling and lots of humor. All ages.

7/09 10:00 AM End of Summer Preschool Play Date: Calling all preschoolers, join us for this fun playdate with toys and friends! Best for ages 5 and under.

7/13 12:00 PM AND 2:00 PM Garden Rock Painting Workshop: Come and be a part of the current craze! Paint a beautiful pattern design on a smooth river stone and keep it for yourself or leave it someplace for someone to find. Best for ages 6 and up.

7/15 11:00 AM AND 1:00 PM Weaving Under the Sea Workshop: No, this is not underwater basket weaving! You choose an undersea creature and learn to weave it into an undersea work of art. Best for ages 6 and up.

7/20 12:00 PM AND 2:00 PM Heart with a Hug Watercolor Workshop: Picture a beautiful painting of a heart being embraced by two arms into a wonderful hug. This would make a wonderful gift for someone special or a special gift to yourself. Best for ages 6 and up.
