Incredible Journey
Monday, 3/13 from 1-3PM
All Ages
Cost: Free
Join the BEC for an interactive game to explore the physical states of water and natural reservoirs as they journey through the water cycle. Consider how water transforms to gases, liquids, or solids while moving through the atmosphere, hydosphere, geosphere, and biosphere. Collect beads at each station that represent each of these transformations.
This program is free of charge and registration is not required. Open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult
3/14 Geocache Treasure Hunt
Tuesday, 3/14 from 1-3pm
Cost: $5-$10
Join the BEC for a family-friendly, high-tech treasure hunt! Discover how to utilize GPS on your personal mobile device to locate hidden treasures throughout the trails of Coppell Nature Park. A series of GPS coordinates will lead you to each prize! Registration is required for each child participant, and children must be accompanied by an adult. An email with details and instructions will be sent upon registration.
Wild By Nature: Bugs’ Eye View
Wednesday, 3/15 from 1-3pm
Ages 3-14
Cost: Free
Have you ever wondered what the world looks like from an ant’s perspective? Join us for an up-close look at nature. Learn about the different parts of a microscope, how to use magification tools, and how objects appear different under magnification. Drop in during open hours to explore interactive learning stations inside the Biodiversity Education Center or on the trails of Coppell Nature Park. Please arrive with enough time to complete activities before closing time. No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Shadow Art
Thursday, 3/16 from 9am – 4pm
All Ages
Cost: Free
Experiment with lights and shadows! Sketch the outline of objects that cast shadow using chalk in our Nature Explore Play Area. No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Little Leprechauns Scavenger Hunt
Friday, 3/17 from 9am – 4pm
All Ages
Cost: Free
Hunt for gold in the Nature Explore Play Area! Find one lucky piece and bring it into the office visitor space to redeem for a prize! No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult
Save the Soil
Saturday, 3/18 from 10am – 12pm
All Ages
Cost: Free
Presented by Coppell High School students from the youth Empowerment Program, learn about th importance of soil, how it is becoming endangered, and what you can do to help! This sone-hour lecture will be followed by a one-hour hands-on exploration of soil. No registration required, but space is limited. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Spring Break EcoExplorers
March 13-18, 2023
9am – 12pm daily
Drop by to learn about the Biodiversity Education Center, Coppell Nature Park, and the seasonal programs offered.
While there, visit the resource rooms to learn about the local environment through self-guided activities. Take what you’ve learned with you on the trails to become an EcoExplorer! No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
