TUE 6/06  Teen Magic Class w/James Wand
3:30 – 4:30 pm – For grades 6-12

Lear about magic and how to perform tricks from magician James Wand!  Space is limited.  A “Teen Program Pass” is required to attend and will be available first come, first served at the front desk beginning 30 minutes prior to the class.

WED 6/14  The Unexpected Spy:  Tracy Walder
6:00 – 7:00 pm – For Ages 14+

Tracy Walder, the author of The Unexpected Spy, will join us for an evening of incredible stories and Q&A.  While enrolled at USC, Tracy was recruited to join the CIA, and after a few years began working for the FBI.  Tracy has done TED Talk and is also a public speaker, sought after through the World Affairs Council.

THU 6/15  Teen Crafts:  Shrink Film Keychains & Pins
3:00 – 5:00 pm – For grades 6-12

Get Creative and design your own keychain or pin.  Draw your design on shrinking film, bake it in a toaster oven, and turn your miniature masterpiece into a keychain or pin.  You don’t have to be an artist to have fun with this craft.  All supplies will be provided.  While supplies last.

WED 6/21  Situational Awareness
3:30 – 4:30 pm – For Grades 9-12

Join Coppell’s Police Department for a presentation on the importance of situational awareness.

Join Coppell’s Police Department for a presentation on the importance of situational awareness.

WED 6/28  Minute to Win It!
5:30 – 6:30 pm – For Grades 6-8

With only a minute on the clock, participants will compete against peers to complete a variety of challenges.  There will be six rounds of challenges, and each member of the winning team will win a prize.  All materials will be provided.

WED 7/05  Teen Craft:  Flowerpot Painting
3:30 – 4:30 pm – For Grades 6-12

Spruce up your garden or your room with colorful flowerpots!  Use paint to turn a plain flowerpot into a work of art.  All materials will be provided.  While supplies last.  A “Teen Program Pass” is required to attend and will be available first come, first served at the front desk beginning 30 minutes prior to the class.

SAT 7/08  Kitchen & Food Safety
1:00 – 2:00 pm – For Grades 6-12

Whether you’re getting ready to move out of your family’s house or you just love to cook, knowing kitchen nd food safety is an important life skill to have.  Join Chef Devon Temoney for a class on all things safety in the kitchen.  A “Teen Program Pass” is required to attend and will be available first come, first served at the front desk beginning 30 minutes prior to the class.

THU 7/13  CPR with Life Safety Park
2:00 – 3:00 pm – For Grades 6-12

Cozby Library is excited to partner with Life Safey Park to present a Teen CPR class at the library.   A “Teen Program Pass” is required to attend and will be available first come, first served at the front desk beginning 30 minutes prior to the class.

WED 7/19  Teen Craft:  DIY Trinket Dish
6:30 – 7:30 pm – For Grades 6-12

Make your own trinket dish out of clay and decorate it to mtch your style.  All materials will be provided.  While supplies last.  A “Teen Program Pass” is required to attend and will be available first come, first served at the front desk beginning 30 minutes prior to the class.

WED 7/26  Make a Bouncy Ball
5:00 – 7:00 pm – For Grades 6-8

Bouncy balls are classic toys, but have you ever attempted to make one yourself?  By mixing together a few key ingredients, watching the reaction, and forming the shape, you’ll have a handmade bouncy ball in no time!  All materials will be provided.  A “Teen Program Pass” is required to attend and will be available first come, first served at the front desk beginning 30 minutes prior to the class.

WED 8/02  Author Q&A with Anita Kharbanda
4:00 – 5:00 pm – For Grades 6+

Join Anita Kharbanda, author of Lioness of Punjab, for a Q&A session.  Anita is a North Texas resident and an engineer.  Pick up her book to read beforehand and come ready with questions to ask.

THU 8/03  Cozby Cares:  Card Quilling
3:00 – 5:00 pm – For Grades 6-12

Cozby Cares programs are a way for teens in Coppell to give  back to their community by earning service hours an dhaving fun!  August’s program is geared towards giving back to teachers in CISD.  Use a process called “quilling” to create Thank You, inspirational, or “good luck this school year” cards.  Come learn a new skill, give back to the community, and have fun with friends before school starts back up.  All materials will be provided.  Any forms that need to be signed for service hours must be brought to any library staff member before closing time that night.

WED 8/09  Teen Craft:  Pom Pom Garland
3:00 – 5:00 pm – For Grades 9-12

Decorate your space with a pom-pom garland!  After making the pom-poms, arrange them to make a garland that matches your style.  Mix and match colors and sizes to create unique decoration.  All materials will be provided.  A “Teen Program Pass” is required to attend and will be available first come, first served at the front desk beginning 30 minutes prior to the class.

WED 8/16  Back to School Celebration
5:30 – 7:00 pm – For Grades 6-12

Celebrate the start of the new school year with games, food, and activities.  This is a come-and-go program.
