We’re HUGE Texas Rangers fans.
But tickets can be SO expensive, it was rare that we attended many games. Each year, we’d usually go to one or two (we’d usually purchase tickets for Father’s Day or a birthday gift). And when we did attend, we always sat in the grandstand section behind center field, or on the 3rd level (ie in the nosebleed section). It was fun, but I always thought it would be great to sit closer to the action.
Last year, we learned about SeatGeek.com, a site that offers discounted tickets for sporting events, concerts, plays, and more. After a little research, we were able to find 4 tickets on the first level (about 2 sections past 3rd base) for only $17 each!! They were the BEST seats our family has ever been able to purchase.
The seats that we purchased for our first game of this year (as you can see from the photo above) were $26, but still great seats for the price!
Finding tickets is easy! Visit SeatGeek.com and select the type of event you’re looking for. You can search by type of sport or concert, as well as by city.
Once you select the game you’re interested in, you’ll be brought to another screen that allows you to narrow down your search (by number of seat together, the price range you’d like to spend, etc.) There’s a map of seating, so you can easily see where your seats will be, and there’s even a feature that allows you to get a sample perspective from your seat (upper left hand corner of the image below.
Tip: Look for seats on the visitors side (3rd base side). They’re usually more affordable than the 1st base side. But no worries… the stands are still filled with LOTS of Rangers fans!
Visit SeatGeek.com and check it out!
Have fun!
