Flower Mound Library is getting ready to kick off a building expansion project, and with that comes new technology.
Expansion plans include a “digital lab” where library cardholders can have access to technology tools that they might not have at home or work. This could include equipment to convert home VHS movies to DVD; a 3d-printer; professional-level audio/visual production and editing equipment to record video resumes, for example; Cricut-type cutting machines, and more.
Here’s where you come in – the library needs feedback from the community about your technology needs and interests. Maybe you’d like to take classes to use some of the afore-mentioned software and equipment. Or maybe your kids just need a quiet place to access wifi, without having to buy something. We’d like to hear from a variety of people – people of all ages; people who work in education or have school-age children; people who use e-books and e-audiobooks; people who prefer print; people who have a lot of technology experience; and people who have little experience but are curious about the possibilities.
Toward that end, the library has scheduled two public meetings to hear your thoughts, in an informal discussion led by their technology consultant:
Wednesday, January 9, 6-8 p.m.
Thursday, January 10, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Flower Mound Library
3030 Broadmoor Lane
Flower Mound, TX
Please call 972.874.6151 if you can attend either meeting. Refreshments will be provided at both meetings. Feel free to bring friends or family members, or to pass this along to anyone who might be interested. We appreciate your assistance in helping us achieve our mission of supporting education and contributing to the quality of life in Flower Mound.
