The year began as a typical school year until a kindergarten class shocked the teachers and management at Primrose School of Highland Village. In the small town of Highland Village, Texas, Ms. Murff’s kindergarten class of seven students received remarkable test scores. The students tested unexpectedly well and received the highest scores out of all 450+ Primrose Schools across the nation.
Ms. Murff, an 11-year Primrose veteran Teacher, continuously challenged the knowledge of her students through Primrose’s proprietary curriculum…… Her students surpassed the Early Star Literacy Test maximum score for Primrose Kindergarten. The testing range for kindergarteners is 0-850, and her students received scores within the range of 874-1100. A phone call to Renaissance, the company who issues the test and collects the data, confirmed to Ms. Murff that her entire class surpassed the ability of this test and would need special permission from Primrose Corporate to purchase the next level of testing materials.
Ms. Murff’s passion for teaching and love for her students allowed her to continue challenge and nuture her students out of their comfort zones and obtain new milestones. The confidence she instilled in each student, allowed them to continue their individual journey and surpass Primrose’s Private Kindergarten goals. She effectively guided and supported her students, in their writing, language, and comprehension skills, allowing them each to soar to their fullest capacity.
Since her students tested out of the Primrose Kindergarten range for the Early Star Literacy Test, the school had the unique opportunity to call the corporate headquarters of Primrose to inquire what they should do next. This was shocking news as there had never been a kindergarten class to surpass the maximum of the Early Star Literacy Test range in the history of Primrose Schools. As a result, Ms. Murff was given exclusive permission to receive the next level of testing for her students.
This is the second year that the Primrose School of Highland Village has offered Kindergarten at the school. The Cognia accredited private preschool also offers education and care for infants through Pre-Kindergarten and a limited enrollment for after schoolers. Primrose schools follow the Primrose curriculum for all the classes they offer. Ms. Murff utilized the curriculum, but her purposeful teaching and commitment to the student cultivated an enriching and valuable learning experience for her students.
A big round of applause for Ms, Murff and her now graduated Kindergarteners! Way to go to our 2022 graduating class by placing Highland Village on the map for Primrose for having an exemplary year!
