Adventure Day Camps: 2018
After a 14 year partnership with the City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation, owners Travis dnd Jennifer Patterson had to start looking for a new location for their Adventure Day Camps. Their camps had operated within Meadowmere Park on Lake Grapevine, other than the 2 years the lake was flooded. They received an email on December 7th advising “moving forward the Parks and Recreation department has decided to go a different route in providing outdoor recreation programs and will not be renewing the Adventure Team concessionaire agreement to provide day camps or other services within and in partnership with the Grapevine Parks & Recreation Department.”
Normally, these owners were taking registrations in January. Instead, they were on a mission to find another location. After meeting with the Parks and Recreation Directors of Trophy Club and Flower Mound, the Corp of Engineers, the Marinas, Northshore Club, Paradise Cove, and Austin Ranch, they had exhausted all options on and around Lake Grapevine.
Time was running out (camp is scheduled to start on May 21) so they approached the city they live in. Colleyville Parks and Recreation was eager to help and welcomed these owners with open arms! They are excited to be relocating to the ground of McPherson Park (240 W McDonwell School RD Colleyville, TX 76034) bringing activities that are usually only offered at overnight camps to a day camp close to home. Campers ages 4-13 will enjoy participating in archery, target shooting, fishing, nature exploration, GaGa Ball, field games, disc golf, volleyball, basketball, baseball, flag football, capture the flag, crafts, and more!
There is also a wonderful playground and Splash Pad the campers will love!
