Trinity Forest Adventure Park in Dallas provided our family with a complimentary experience. Below you’ll find details. All opinions are my own.
I’m not exactly a dare-devil… Although I love the outdoors and being active, I admit I’m afraid of heights:) That being said, our experience at Trinity Forest Adventure Park (aka Trinity Treetops), was AWESOME!!
Trinity Forest Adventure Park is a combination of a canopy tour, challenge course and zip line adventure, and is available to individuals ages 6 and up, as well as at least 48″ tall.
GETTING STARTED
Our three-hour adventure started out with a 30-minute “Ground School.” The crew helped each of us get suited up with harnesses, gloves, and helmets, then walked us through the ins and outs of navigating the course.
SAFETY
As a mom, I loved the safety features. Basically, every time you move from one element of the course to another, you are ALWAYS clipped in and safe!! In other words, from the moment you leave the ground (yes, before you take your first step up the ladder), you’re clipped in to safety cables. Then, every time you move from a cargo net to a zip line, or a tight rope to a platform, you have to clip in to the next element BEFORE you unclip from the previous element. Literally… you HAVE to… the gear doesn’t allow you to unclip. The “key” to unlock your current clip IS the next clip. It may sound complicated, but it’s not. It was super easy to get the hang of!
COURSES
Similar to ski runs, the Trinity Forest Adventure Park is an aerial course that consists of 6 individual, elevated courses for different ability levels. Each course varies in terms of elevation and the strenuousness of the challenges. There are over 70 elements in the Park! Elements include rope bridges, ladders, cargo nets, zip lines and more. All courses are self guided and every person moves at their own pace. “Always Attached” is more than a motto at the Trinity Forest Adventure Park. It’s the rule. A participant is ONLY able to detach from the course at the end and on the ground.
• Yellow Course
• 2 Green Courses
• 2 Blue Courses
• Black Course
You must complete a lower level before moving onto the blue and black courses.
During our visit, we did two green courses as well as a blue course. We probably could have fit at least one more course into our visit, but we simply ran out of energy (I probably used more upper-body strength than I needed to because of my fear!).
STAFF
I was also VERY impressed with the staff. They were very patient with those of us who had fears, learned the kids names, and encouraged everyone throughout the day!
Trinity Forest Adventure Park provided a great environment to bond with my kids (and for them to bond with each other).
There was lots of shade and they have five-gallon jugs of water throughout the facility. I would suggest bringing a water bottle, which you can keep at the central starting point for all six courses.
Trinity Forest Adventure Park is located in southeast Dallas and is definitely worth the drive!
